CFISD names inaugural principal for Elementary School No. 59

Jan. 26, 2024Dr. Amy Frank, principal at Owens Elementary School, was named the first principal for CFISD’s 59th elementary school on Jan. 26.

Elementary School No. 59 is under construction at the intersection of Miramesa Drive and West Road in the Miramesa subdivision and is set to open in August 2024.

Dr. Frank has 31 years of experience in education, all in CFISD. She began as a third, fourth and fifth grade teacher at Hamilton and Post elementary schools before becoming an instructional specialist at Sheridan Elementary School in 2005. Dr. Frank was then named an assistant principal at Wilson Elementary School in 2007, where she served for three years before becoming an assistant principal at Sheridan in 2010. She was named principal at Owens in 2015.

In addition, Dr. Frank serves as a new principal and aspiring principal mentor, completed the Harvard University New and Aspiring Leaders Institute, completed the Rice Executive Education Academy and holds a NAESP National Mentor Certification.

Frank earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston and Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. She earned her Doctor of Educational Leadership from the University of Houston.

“I am thrilled to be selected as the inaugural principal of Elementary School No. 59,” Dr. Frank said. “My various leadership roles and the strong mentors that have poured into me have prepared me for this exciting opportunity. I look forward to working with the community to create a culture of excellence.”
